Hello everyone! The rainy season is almost over and the heat is finally starting to set in. In this blog, I'd like to write about the recently opened "CL by C. Lemaire" pop-up store and the behind-the-scenes of the Uma Musume commercial.
The Select Sale 2024 took place on July 8th and 9th at Northern Horse Park in Hokkaido. This major event brings together horsemen from all over Japan, and generated an astounding 28.9 billion yen in sales over the two days. Thanks to the generosity of Northern Farm, we were able to set up a pop-up store at the auction site for the first time.

The shop was located in Diado Buena Vista, inside the Horse Park. Because the Select Sale is a special event, it was difficult for the general public to enter, but horse owners and people from the brand's partners, Shadai Race Horse and Silk Racing, made an appearance at the shop. Representative Hiraoka said, "We had new customers who had never heard of the brand before, and regular brand supporters came to show their support. My only regret is that fans couldn't come easily, but I'm honored to have been able to exhibit on such a big stage." Christophe said, "I was really happy that my friends, jockey Yutaka Take and Daigo, came. Everyone please come and visit, thank you very much."

Christophe appeared in a commercial for "Uma Musume Pretty Derby" that aired the other day. The commercial is 15 seconds long, but it actually took a whole day to film. "A large stage was set up on set, with about 20 staff members. I was amazed at how meticulously everything was set up. I followed the script and was taught the movements by a choreographer, and I played the role of a 'crazy French chef' (laughs). Performing in front of a large crowd was different from the feeling of being the favorite in a G1 race, so we had to reshoot many times."

"Uma Musume" has become a social phenomenon, making a big impact even on people who are unfamiliar with horse racing. CyberAgent's Susumu Fujita has already won the Saudi Derby and UAE Derby as a real horse racing owner. This year's Select Sale, his fourth year, saw him purchase 11 horses for approximately 1.8 billion yen. "I'm grateful that he's helping to spread the appeal of horse racing through games and as a horse owner," said Christophe.

Christophe took a break of about a month, but will resume riding on July 27th. During his rest, he has been staying active by swimming, playing golf, and training at a martial arts gym. We hope to cheer on a refreshed and energized Christophe at the racetrack. Also, a new T-shirt collection will be released by CL by C. Lemaire soon, so please look out for information on their website and in their newsletter.
