The third installment in the "LEGEND JOCKEY" series by artist Ryuichi Obana.
Following works inspired by Napoleon (LEGEND JOCKEY I) and Utagawa Kuniyoshi's ukiyo-e print "Sarashina-goe" (LEGEND JOCKEY II), this piece is based on Tomoe Gozen, the legendary female warrior who symbolizes the strength and beauty of women.
This series reinterprets historical master riders as "jockeys." In this work, Tomoe Gozen is depicted holding a whip instead of a bow and arrow, and her battle standard features a horseshoe symbol, integrating her into the world of horse racing.
Pink and mint green were chosen as the base colors, creating a feminine aesthetic, a first for the series.
Limited to 215 pieces.
