Hello everyone. This summer, Niigata Racecourse extended the lunch break as part of its heatstroke prevention measures. This is the first time the JRA has done so, so how did everyone who came to Niigata spend their time? After riding five consecutive races, Christophe apparently took a long rest in the weigh-in room to prepare for the next race, but most jockeys seemed to have returned to their individual rooms in the adjustment room .

Christophe, who returned from a month's break, has recorded five wins and is back in the leading position. "I rode at Niigata Racecourse on Saturday and at Sapporo Racecourse on Sunday, and I've received a lot of support since my return, so it's been a very productive weekend. Embroidery won easily, so I'm happy to have achieved such a good result so quickly. As it was the opening week, the track was in good condition and we were able to break the record. This is a horse that I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds. I did have some muscle pain the day after the race, but I'm feeling good after the rest period."

We spoke with jockey Nozomi Iwata, who is currently training in France. "Lemaire introduced me to his stable in France and lent me a house in Chantilly, from where I train every morning. The other day I raced in my first race in France and came in third, but I want to ride even more. I have had the pleasure of having dinner with Lemaire in Japan, and I have great respect for him both as a jockey and as a person. He has been so kind to me on this trip," he said, expressing his gratitude for Christophe's support. He also said he brought a "CL by C. Lemaire" shirt with him to wear on the trip.

When I told Christophe about this, he sent me a message of support, saying, "Nozomi is a very skilled jockey, and I hope he will gain a lot of experience in France. He is still young, but I hope that he will grow as a person by gaining experience in a new environment. I hope that not only him, but all young Japanese jockeys will become more proactive in going abroad. They will learn a lot not only from riding in races, but also from the local culture and interactions with various people."

Regarding the Olympics currently being held in Paris, he said, "Every event is fascinating to watch. Last night, I happened to be watching shooting on TV, and I was amazed at the level of concentration of each athlete. This year, France is the host country, welcoming athletes from all over the world, and I am very proud of that. Whether it's horse racing jockeys or Olympic athletes, their serious approach to their sport will only improve them." Finally, he also expressed his gratitude for everyone's support, as the "CL by C. Lemaire" Equinox T-shirts sold out in just a few hours.
